PARKING DANCE - "SOBER CINEMA" (video) [Threshold Premiere]

After some years exploring the bedroom aura of frenetic rhythms painted in post-punk tones and shoegaze textures, PARKING DANCE came back to the radar of the underground scene, last year, with its first official long-player WHAT MORE? (2019, Icy Cold Records). Now, about five months after that milestone, the french producer is back with a new music video for the drunken ambiance single “SOBER CINEMA”, which you can watch first-hand, below.

The solo project which Matthieu Bonnécuelle gave birth in the year 2017 got us used, from the beginning to a typically colorful sound intertwined with monochromatic rhythmic structures and the noisy strokes of shoegaze. In an attitude that could be described as “I don’t really care about the production as long as I can extract the craziest feelings from people”, PARKING DANCE automates a genuine emotion that was born to conquer the most sensitive hearts. Like the light in the middle of chaos.

In “SOBER CINEMA”, PARKING DANCE ignites that sonic world that explores rhythm boxes, throbbing guitars and a typically deep voice to create a mix between coldwave, grunge, lo-fi rock and a big distortion campus. The video for the theme shows us this sound essence through some footage of PARKING DANCE playing live, the quicky standards of nowadays living, and the light as a guide to nowhere. All of this sculpted in cold-colored film work – directed by PARKING DANCE and Evi:Ke from Icy Cold Records – that you can watch in full here or there.

WHAT MORE? was released on December 16th in vinyl and digital by the incendiary Icy Cold Records label. Make sure to buy your copy here or directly via his bandcamp page
